Spartan Girls Lacrosse Club (SGLC) Registration

Spring 2017

Registration takes place for returning players online at www.spartangirlslacrosse.org from November 1st through November 14th.  Registration opens to new players on November 15th. Spaces are limited. Register soon as space is available on a first come first served basis. Last year we had several age groups fill up quickly and unfortunately we had to turn girls away!!!

Registration in SGC is limited to girls residing within the Springfield Township School District.  Per PAGLA rules:  Your daughter will have to fill out a waiver if they wish to play with a club that is not within the boundaries of the school district they reside. It is not where they attend school- but the district they live in- that is the boundary.  The waivers are available on the PAGLA website. After you fill out the waiver and get it signed you need to send it to the PAGLA board. They then make the decision.

Little House (LH) is for Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders interested in learning the sport of lacrosse.  In LH we  teach the fundamentals of lacrosse through instruction with the emphasis on fun and learning the game. The program takes place on Saturdays and Thursdays on the fields. The Little House clinics begin Thursday April 20th, weather permitting, running through the month of April and into mid May.

Our 3rd/4th grade league travels locally to play other teams. They practice twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings. Games are played on Saturday afternoons. This league runs from April 1st, weather permitting, thru early June. These players will practice on our new field in Wyndmoor.  More details to follow.

Our 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade leagues are travel teams.  These girls play other travels teams in our PAGLA East conference including, Upper Dublin, Souderton, Wissahickon, Chestnut Hill and others. Teams practice twice a week with games on Saturdays. Practices and home games are at either the Springfield Middle or High School. This is a competitive league and girls who sign up are expected to commit to ALL practices and games. As directed by PAGLA East, our club will have an A and B team this year with placement dependent on evaluations.

Two evaluation dates are scheduled for late January early February.  Girls are invited to participate in both clinics and are required to attend at least one for placement purposes. We will have one "A" team and one "B" team.

All girls must attend at least one of the two dates to be considered for the "A" team.  Anyone who can not attend the clinics will begin the season on the "B" roster.

The clinic will include skills evaluation and some fitness testing.

Girls may attend both sessions and we encourage you to attend both sessions as it a great way to get a stick in their hands and to get a jump on the upcoming season.  (Not to mention a good way to get them out of the house on a winter day.)
