Spartan Girls Lacrosse Club (SGLC) Registration
Registration takes place for returning players online at www.spartangirlslacrosse.org from November 1st through November 14th. Registration opens to new players on November 15th. Spaces are limited. Register soon as space is available on a first come first served basis. Last year we had several age groups fill up quickly and unfortunately we had to turn girls away!!!
Please note a new PAGLA policy: SGLC is no longer accepting new families ("New" is defined as a player who did not play in our program in grades 3rd through 7th during the spring 2015 season) that live in areas that already have an established PAGLA program. Currently we are only accepting new families from the Springfield Twp school district in our 3rd-8th grade programs. This policy does not effect families that have returning players in our 3rd-8th grade programs. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Little House (LH) is primarily for 1st/2nd graders interested in learning the sport of lacrosse. This year we will also allow kindergarten students as well. In LH we teach the fundamentals of lacrosse through instruction with the emphasis on fun and learning the game. The program takes place on Sundays from 1-2:30 and Thursdays from 6 to 7 at either the Springfield Middle or High School fields. The Little House clinics begin Sunday April 8th, weather permitting, running through the month of April and into mid May.
Our 3rd/4th grade league travels locally to play other teams. They practice twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings. Games are played on Saturday afternoons. This league runs from April 8th, weather permitting, thru early June. These players will practice on our field in Wyndmoor. We will also try to schedule an indoor clinic in March to give the girls an opportunity to brush off the winter rust. More details to follow.
Our 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade leagues are travel teams. These girls play other travels teams in our PAGLA East conference including, Upper Dublin, Souderton, Wissahickon, Chestnut Hill and others. Teams practice twice a week with games on Saturdays. Practices and home games are at either the Springfield Middle or High School. This is a competitive league and girls who sign up are expected to commit to ALL practices and games. As directed by PAGLA East, our club will have an A and B team this year with placement dependent on evaluations. Evaluation dates are January 24th and January 31st. Girls are invited to participate in both clinics and are required to attend at least one for placement purposes. If you do not attend at least one clinic there is a good chance that you will automatically be placed on a B team with a possibility of moving to the A team once practices begin. Practices for both 5/6 and 7/8 will tentatively start March 12th. PAGLA has scheduled the first games to begin as early as 3/19.Further details will follow.
SGLC is in need of Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Parent Helpers. Training will be provided. Please email us if you can help out.
